I've been reading these forums for a few months on and off - but I couldn't really figure out why I had never signed up until today.
I have a hard time really classifying myself as a lighting designer if only because working in a small area I tend to do a lot of non-lighting consultations as well. Still I've been focused on lighting design for the past three or four years now - after moving back to Theatrical work following a foray into film.
In addition to various freelance and volunteer work, my 'day job' is working as a lighting design for a small college theater and various technical consultation - sort of landed in the TD's right hand man job.
