Thanks for checking, but the event is not until next month. I have downloaded Martin m-pc, which did allow me to get a feel for the console I will be using. I have also studied up the martinMac 550.
My goodness, if you've had this much time to prepare why not buy yourself an Enttec interface and a cheap $70 moving light from eBay? Consider it a wise investment in yourself! While the moving head would be more or less disposable, owning an interface will let you travel with a console (albeit virtual) that you already know how to program. I can all but guarantee that an hour spent playing with a cheap mover is far more valuable than "studying up" on one, even if it's not the exact fixture you'll be using for the show. Visualizers can help too, but when starting fresh nothing can beat the experience of learning with real hardware. Good luck!
I just would like to say thank you for all the advice given regarding this topic. The show went extremely well and everyone was impressed with the moving lights!
