With the convintional rig i run, the time between after sound check and before doors is when i "claim" the stage as "mine" that being, i have a crew to focus and do whatever else lighting wise before doors. That is because the band and anyone else that will get in the way is eating at catering. So eat during sound check and THEN do the focus after sound check.
