To help keep us busy during this time of isolation, our friend Matthias Hinrichs, Elation's Product Manager, will be hosting three different learning sessions over the next few weeks. Each of the three classes will be held multiple times, so if one day wont work for you, maybe another will.
The classes focus on some products from Obsidian Control Systems; Netron network and DMX devices as well as training for their Onyx lighting control software. There are two courses available for Onyx; Onyx 101: A beginners guide to using the software and an Onyx advanced user class.
One of the greatest features about Onyx is that it is completely FREE and allows for 4 Universes of DMX to be output without the need to purchase any type of license key; you just need any network node (ArtNet or sACN) or Obsidian's NX-DMX device to output the signal to your rig. No time limit on output or 'Demo' mode limitations.
One feature in the software that they will be including in the training is the new DYLOS advanced pixel composer and media engine. This program alone is worth the cost of admission, oh wait... it's free... DYLOS allows the user to easily map any media content to their lighting rig or pixel display to create new and unique pixel effects and media integration.
