icewolf hits it with the main reason to use them. When doing shows in rep where you change out color frequently changing into a R00 frame is easier than remembering which units to skip. Using them in scrollers is another reason to have them.

Going back to frosting, if you're going to use LED fixtures why hide it? Power constraints can not possibly be the issue at stake!

increases your coverage area although it sacrifices your output slightly. Also can help smooth out the color mix for the lower end LED PAR's.
