A goalpost in lighting terms is any structure with two verticals and a horizontal. Goalposts are usually built with two 50# boom bases, 2 cheeseboroughs (rigid or swivel), and 3 BIP pipes. Often the horiz. pipe is at the top of the verts., so technically an arch, but still called a goalpost. Much more stable than a boom.
