Final verdict: I ordered in two of the K&M 20800 Overhead Stands, and two of the K&M 21231 counter-weighted boom arms. Special shout-out to Sweetwater. Although the web prices were good, I called and got a far better price from them on the phone plus free shipping. Sometimes still pays to call rather than click.
EDIT: Well now, one little hiccup- Apparently the female stand mount of the boom is 1/2 thread! (not 3/8, not 5/8) Never heard of that! They do appear to have an adapter # 21900-208-29
I've just never heard of a 1/2 microphone stand threading!!!
