Green room/Backstage monitors

As an improvement over a cheap baby monitor in a recent big show we placed a small mini-FM radio transmitter with a microphone in front of an onstage speaker. The stage and some actors had mics. The FM transmitter had a range of a few dozen meters but it was enough for anyone with an FM radio to tune in if you knew the frequency. As we had 3 green rooms located on two separate floors and no wiring run to them we just set up clock radios wherever our off stage actors and crew needed to monitor the onstage action.

Was cheap, easy and flexible. In hind sight we could have had our front of house monitor it in the lobby to know when intermission was, our bartenders, etc.

just a suggestion !
