Hey all,
I'm f_zzyslippers, FZA for short. Just turned 32. I live halfway between DC and Baltimore. Currently in an appreticeship for a corporate AV company. I'll be doing Equipment Logistics when I finish.
I have an extensive background in theater. I started out acting, especially improv. When I needed a job, one of the directors at my community college got me a job as an event technician.
I did that for about 15 years and got actual live theater gigs intermittently. I've done sound design before but after doing the apprenticeship I want to get more in to lighting.
My long term goals are to take advantage of the opportunities and learning this corporate AV job provides me, and move up to PM or LD/ME. After 10-15 years, I'll start looking for a lead position at a live theater venue, or see about freelancing again.
I like all kinds of other nerd stuff too.
