Hi there!
I'm very happy to have found a forum dedicated to technical theatre
About me: I'm 29, female, and I work as a graphic designer, despite having a degree in theatre. College, it seems, taught me that I don't want to do professional theatre, but I'm very active in local theatre. I serve as technical director at a community theatre, and have designed and directed at many other stages in the area.
I have a thorough knowledge of design, be it scene, sound, or lighting, I'm pretty good at construction, usually sample and mix my own sound, and just love finding innovative ways to make shows more immersive and interesting through the tech. I also sit in the director's chair for at least one production every year, and I occasionally find time to function as a musician as well! I used to be a performer, once upon a time, but my love for the booth keeps me off the stage these days.
I guess that's all Glad this resource is here, hopefully it'll save me many hours googling new ideas
