Hello from the new guy --

Someone left the door open so I hope you don't mind that I let myself in. Former studio rat (still mastering specialist), got a PT gig as a theatre tech which turned into a FT thing ~20 years ago, accepted the Technical Supervisor (a.k.a. TD) spot a couple years ago. 442-seat house, grid (no fly), a good amount of ETC nameplates along with some older Strand Century 6-by units, Meyer mains. Pretty busy place. A pair of FT techs, around a dozen PT, the usual.

Hope to bug you with occasional stupid questions and stories of glory and terror.

@John Scrip Welcome to @dvsDave 's Control Booth forum, there are worse places you could be. We have members world wide posting from Australia, NewZealand, Tanzania, the Orient, Europe, the U.K., Russia, South, Central and North America. Dave even lets me sneak in posting from north of Donald's walls. Our members run the gamut from total newb's to folks retired from Cirque, Disney and virtually everywhere and every level in between. A number of manufacturers' sales and service rep's keep an eye on the place and are often a fast and direct path to technical support, often in the middle of a holiday weekend.
Idle question: Mastering to lacquer, open reel, trendy new solid state stuff, singles, albums, videos ??? (Please! Don't be a VIDEOT; not when I've been treating you like a fellow human.)
Toodleoo!

Thanks for the welcome wagon.

And -- Audio mastering. Generally digital sources (I sold off my main deck a few years ago because it was just collecting dust), but I still do a fair amount of vinyl restoration... And although plenty of what I work on ends up on vinyl, I don't cut the wax here. Singles, albums, audio for video, yes. Quite a bit of editing and audio tweaking for dance companies also. I assume I can't post links yet but I'll try: https://www.massivemastering.com
