Vintage Lighting hello very interesting

i came upon your forum by accident but hopefully someone will be able to help me out i purchased a vintage "stage" light at an estate sale. It is a homelite corporation type 2f serial #42950c light. The casing appears to be aluminum I was told it was a searchlight also????????????? it does appear to be quite old any help would be appreciated and i hope this post doesnt annoy anyone as there was no info available anywhere else so maybe i have a treasure!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't aware that Homelite ever made anything except generators, chainsaws and garden equipment.
