Help with Element and Water

i was thinking just flag real water and go for something glittery or confetti.
..messy, but i would rather that mess than real water.
i dont kno the play though.

Using Water for rain

Thought about it too. This is the "Singin' in the Rain" scene from the movie of the same name with Gene Kelly. Knew of a couple of productions that used chase lights in a backdrop to simulate rain falling. Did not look so good. Thought about confetti/similar but the mess (even though the rain scene is end of Act I and you have time for clean up) deterred that, as well as the stuff sticking to the actors. The rain tube was easy - removing the water was the hard part, as well as lighting it. But - the water makes it real, the audience loved it, and it played well!
Containing and removing the water was the difficult part, made easier by our use of fresh water supply (not recirculated) and a convenient path to a drain of sufficient size. Won't work everywhere!
Note: Don Lockwood cannot wear a wool blend suit - shrinks.
