How to Become a Rigger?

Hello, I'm a stagehand and my career goal is to become an rigger, especially an up-rigger. Does anyone know any rigging companies near Los Angeles or Orange County that would be willing to hire someone new and teach them through hands-on training? Are there other paths to become a rigger or places to learn arena rigging in California? Thank you.

P.S. I have some ground rigging experience and I'm trying to get through Harry Donovan's Entertainment Rigging

Most locals will do a rigging training every few years, are you part of the IA or trying to be?

Yeah, I was thinking of applying the next time they're accepting applicants. I heard it's difficult to get into local 33 and you have to work your way up be given a chance to take rigging training, but it's one avenue I'm thinking of trying. I'm also trying to get in with some of the local labor groups and get some training there.
