As much as I detest the 520i I'd take it over a Congo. That's my opinion for what its worth.

The biggest reason I'd go with ETC is their support. If only other people in the industry could have tech support like they do...

I would say your best option is to E-Bay them or other used gear source sell them off to a good home if you don't plan to use them. Price them say at $25.00 each - as is. As a group or individually and most likely individually. Can clean them up, service call them and halogen lamp them up but if of no use to you, hopefully to someone else. This also hoping they don't become a prop light in some theam diner.

They say they are UL listed so of course they are safe. No matter what you do as long as its UL listed its safe
I would try selling them on e-bay or gear source personally.
