So... I gave a quiz to my students the other day on theatre staffing organization, most of them for some reason thought the artistic director painted scenery.

You mean they don't? I'll have to explain that to our Artistic Director, who is also the director of the show. She'll be very disappointed when I inform her that Footer4321 says she can't paint anymore.
