As an Ion user (former Express with Emphasis) with 250 conventionals and 5 ML's minimum, plus occasional LED's and add'l ML's, I would recommend the Ion, but you will absolutely want dual LCD touchscreens. The TS's make life immensely easier to grab Groups of fixtures, Focus, Color and Beam Palettes as well as Presets that can call up the collection of Palettes. Either running looks into cues, which is easier on Ion then Congo, or busking live (which the Congo might be better at) with the touch screens and some fader wings , the Ion does it all really well.
