TLC Engineering for Architecture is seeking candidates for an entry-level Entertainment Venues & Acoustics Designer in Sarasota, FL, with a relocation bonus available. Base compensation range is $55-65k, plus overtime at time and a half, profit-sharing bonuses, and 401K match.

While this position is directed toward entertainment venues, projects (especially for AV/acoustics) are diverse and include higher ed, K12, corporate, government, and industrial. Candidates who may not possess the full inventory of skills required but have an insatiable interest in a diverse range of projects are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting, design, & project documentation of audio, video, lighting, and communications systems.
    • Design software includes AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, etc.
  • Set up of acoustical simulation models in EASE, SoundPLAN
  • Visit project sites and prepare field reports of project progress, field conditions, and deviations from contract documents.
  • Assist with acoustical measurements and system commissioning.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Engineers, Architects, Owners and Designers.

Qualifications

  • BFA or Theater Design/Technology degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in entertainment production across multiple styles and tiers of venues
  • Familiarity with drafting software in Sketchup, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, and/or Revit
  • Passion for consulting and ability to communicate with others.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license.

Not to be that guy but a degree + 6yrs falls out of the range of entry level.

Entry-level in terms of consulting and construction management. We can teach someone to 3D model in Revit, but if they do not have hands-on theater/event experience it will be difficult for their career to grow on the consulting side of the industry.

Trying to keep the position widely accessible to those who may have production experience but want to settle down into a 40-50/hr week career with benefits and limited travel.
