I finally registered. For quite a while, I've browsed through various topics when Google led me here, but now that I want to ask questions and respond to people, it is time to join up.
I've been active in community theater for over five years now. The time seems to fly by, and it seems that all those lovely experiences should have taken more time than that.
Mostly, I design lighting. I've designed for a wide range of productions(1) and venues(2). In the past year, I've lit shows with as few as six and as many as 225 instruments. I must be doing something right, as people are asking me to light their shows.
I have also worked shows as technical director, stage manager, house electrician, intercom specialist, and general tech help. I've recently become much more comfortable (and hopefully competent) with the audio side of things.
I'm looking forward to associating with the folks here.

1. plays, G&S operettas, masquerade costume competitions / talent shows, award presentations, rock and folk concerts, ...
2. ranging from teen-tiny holes that some gullible audience was convinced was a theater by a clever producer on a miserly budget to a 5,000-seat auditorium.
