    A genre of theatre featuring the songs of a particular artist or time and having little or no plot. Currently represented on Broadway with Rock of Ages, featuring the music of 1980s "hair" bands. Other examples are Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Beehive, The Buddy Holly Story, Smokey Joe's Cafe, and Always Patsy Cline.
