I run a mobile sound and light rig and up to now have been using a typical LED DJ PAR light for key lights
on the bands. Throw distance varies, but usually relatively short, max:

14 - 16 feet high and only about 6 feet out in front of the band so steep angle.
13 feet high and out 45 degrees out on flanks anywhere from 15 - 30 feet.
13 feet high and out about 30 - 50 at an FOH booth.

I am considering upgrading to some combination of LED Fresnel or LEKO/Profile type lights, but
maybe LED PARS with zoom and good white options would be better. Appreciate any thoughts, experience
or creative ideas anyone might have.

ETC ParNel may be a good option for you, as you can quickly and easily adjust from spot to flood.

Good LEDs may be a price shock. Chauvet has some good PAR zoom units in the $1k range.
Manual zoom, meaning lens changes will be cheaper.

You might consider small mover profiles for distance work with flexibility. Chauvve Rogue series is doing well for many similar rigs.

Another option may be some film/television lights such as Arri, Pepper, Litepanels, etc. B&H is a good place to look.
