I haven't heard of such a thing (worth inventing) but there is a controller out on the market it is made by Wahlberg

Yes, but you would be looking at the higher end rental staging projectors. Also, there would still be limited control. It is much easier to use a web browser for the multiple functions. Plus, many of them still respond to RS-232 commands.
What type of functionality would you be looking to control via DMX? For most productions, the bulk of the projector control will be done prior to performance. This means that most won't give you much more control than the douser. Most of the time, you don't want to be switching sources at the projector as you will have some glitching that you don't want the audience to see. On some of the pricier models, you will have settings for your lens, but that would require an indexing system as well.
