I did a letter drop for Equivocation using a cloth hammock gathered at one end and troughed with a spreader bar at the other. It was hoisted on sash cord with a pulley on either end and worked a lot like a snow cradle. With a little pracice we got good at loading and jiggling the cords to get a good drop.
