Lighting manufacturer history

Another friend of mine Clyde who is a legend in Chicago theater, chimed in recently with also filling in some history:

Major and Hub Electric were major suppliers of switchboards and fixtures until the 70's as I recall. I still have a major catalogue and maybe one from Hub too. Major did all the city boards including the Park District, Goodman Theatre *after George - I have most of that board too), Buckingham fountain and McCormick place. Between the two companies they did ALL the 20's presentation houses. I had friends who worked at both companies. Go into any old presentation house, blow the dust off the old Hub or Major board and It will still work. That's when stuff was built to last.
