Lighting Pad Iphone App from Alcorn McBride

Has any one used Lighting Pad app for Iphone from Alcorn McBride?
How do you set up this app to work with your art net nodes? I am wondering what the source port should be set as??

Just make sure your connected to the right wireless network, and you've searched and selected your artnet node....Seemed to work for me alright...

the other thing that i am confused with is that on my art-net node the entech open dmx over ethernet, you select the universe by a number and on lighting pad you select it by a letter????????? I am still confused

Most likely A is 1, B is 2, etc, just to reduce the chance of confusing a channel number with a universe number.

wow good to know there is a new app that does this. I'm using luminair right now but it looks like the set up is the same. Some tips for getting your stuff working would be:
1. go into your routers settings and turn dhcp off. I could be wrong about this but what this should do is turn your router into an access port.
2. plug the dongle into the router (dont use the one labeled internet).
3. for the luminair app i had go into the iphone wireless setting and set it to static and fill in the ip address, subnet, and router ip.

hopefully this help cause these were some of the problems i had setting it. once you get it up and going let us know how it does.

Making the assumption that you're connecting the art net node through a wireless router/switch here.

If you know the IP address of your art net node (which you can find in the setup window if you connect it directly to your computer via Ethernet) you can type that into the "Current Receiver" option to try and get it that way.

Let us know if you need anymore help. I've got it successfully working in the theatre I work in, so it does work!

I Just wanted to say that i finally figured out what i was doing wrong and why this app was not working for me.

It was really simple actually.

I have an enttec open dmx box it was set to art net universe 01 and the app was set to universe A.

In now know that universe A in the app is actually art net universe 00.
I Set it up correctly and boom it works great.

Now i know...........

It appears to work quite well on my iPad using BlueLite software (which is capable of using Artnet). I'm going to the theater today to try it out in a real world scenario. My main reason for trying it is with the aim/focus I have to do from the top of a ladder - and often without anyone else there to operate my 'board', but the ability to record and save cues is certainly a bonus. I also bought Rig Tool ($.99) for my iPhone. It also seems to work well using BlueLite, but has no save capabilities. I'll be trying it out today, also.
