Making Female / Male 3.5mm Stereo Jacks

Hey

This has to do with the making your own headset post, but I didn't want to get that one to off topic so I created a new one. Basically I havn't done any real wiring besides small circuit board and have never actually wired something like a 3.5mm plug or a 1/4" or anything like that.

I was wondering if anyone knew some sites ( I looked and didn't find anything too useful ) that either described or showed how to wire a male or female 3.5mm Plug, or if anyone wanted to write up how to do it.

Any help would be great.

Thanks, Nick

Hi Nick,

I hope your eye sight is good and your soldering iron has a small tip...

We make audio adapters all the time and the 1/8th inch plugs are one of the most difficult to do.

As for the wiring, white to tip, black to ring and shield to sleeve.
