The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse seeks a Technical Director for its exciting 2011 summer season. The production schedule includes: Anything Goes, Hairspray, 42nd Street, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, The Marvelous Wonderettes, and Cooking with the Calamari Sisters: Mangia Italiano! Start and end dates are somewhat flexible. Salary is competitive and housing is included; all employees are provided with their own room. The TD oversees a shop consisting of an ATD, Master Carp, 2 Carps, 1 Stage Carp, and 2 Production Assistants as well as PA’s from other departments. Candidates must have prior professional TD experience, know AutoCAD, be able to manage quick build periods and two day changeovers. Also required is a driver’s license with a clean record. Must have previous summer stock work and experience managing a team with diverse skill level. MFA plus three years experience or equivocal experience required. Experience driving large vans and trucks a plus. This position has a possibility for year-round employment. Work environment is positive, challenging, and holds a high artistic integrity.
