A Micro Switch (actually a trademark, now owned by Honeywell) is a pushbutton switch designed to be operated by the motion or presence of some object. They often have a lever arm, sometimes with a roller, to activate them. Some applications include limit switches, position sensors, and tamper switches.

Selecon include "micro-switches" in their fixtures. These act to open the circuit when the fixture is opened, thereby turning them off.
