Hello all,

So glad to have found this forum. It has helped already, and now that I've joined...

I was a technical director, set designer/builder, and lighting designer in college, and have spent the last decade working in cinematography in LA. Just moved to Portland, Maine, and am directing a stage show currently at a venue called SPACE Gallery which has never hosted a full theater production before, so we're starting from the ground up.

The show involves a good deal of video projection from recordings, as well as live sources such as the built-in webcams on laptops, and requires some subtle vocal amplification (of phone calls), so technically it's gonna be a great challenge.

Glad to have this forum on my side!

Welcome aboard. Working in found spaces can be a ton of fun, especially with a media rich show. I think we will be seeing more and more of that in the coming years with the shrinking budgets of theatre companys. I have done a few shows in art galleries, its a challenge but fun at the same time. Glad your here.
