Welcome to the Post Pandemic LDI 2021 New Technology Breakfast - Lighting & Projection. I'll be attempting to update this thread as the morning proceeds.

First note is that obviously attendance is very lite (no, not VARI LIGHT). WIth 10 minutes to go there is only about 30 people in the audience.
 
Seems like my earlier post opened the doors, and now we have about 150 people.
 
Here we GO!

First up is promo video for ILuminate, a wearable led product. Miral Kotb, the creator and CEO is on stage speaking about how she grew up in Egypt and started writing code at age 9. Spoke about developing the wireless control, power supply, ergonomics related to dancer movement. Original control was via iPhone app, but was to limiting. They don't use wireless DMX, but rather their own protocol what is a faster transmission speed due to the speed in which each diode turns on and off. Their own control software can be triggered via dmx or timecode if needed.

 
Chamsys is now onstage after rushing from their zoom virtual meeting,(what, this year is live? we've got to get to Vegas!) presenting their Magic Q MQ500m Stadium consoles little brother, the MQ250. 64 universes, motorized faders, backlit keys.
 
Chauvet Professional is up next.

Color Stike M and Colorado PXL bar are two new fixtures. The PXL - IP65 rating, 45w RGBW led rays, linkable end to end seamlessly, all major control protocols accepted. Color Strike M - tilting hybrid strobe. Pixal mapping capability.
 
Madrix lighting control is on stage. They are a German company. installed in lots on night club clients, bars, spin studios, and other retail markets where a full sized console is not wanted due to space issues. New product is madrix Aura, a din rail mounted playback controller with a 100% duty cycle.
 
LDI has a new program called Fostering the Future to help promote the younger workforce matriculating into the industry,
 
Apex Technologies. Basic idea is that there are a lot of European manufactures that are not available the states, so Apex was started by a few production managers who wanted to have those items available when they toured internationally.
Little Tidbit, Eurovision is coming to the States.
 
German Lighting Products is next.
New truss bases with wheels, Some LED tape product, and introducing the X5 fixture. developed to be compatible with film/video with a adjusting white balance point. They also have some linear LED bars. Sorry for the lack of info, no slides so I am typing as he was speaking to fast.

Thank god, slides.
Software and Hardware, closed eco system. Control software with lots of Architectural uses. Pro DMX and PixDMX controllers. Pro DMX uses a touch screen interface. Small Wi-Light 2 wireless system for demo gear, great for sales people. Been used by Disney Euro for some of their parade floats. 5 year warranty.

Remote internet control ability. Send updates from off site.
 
One of the sponsors, MODscenes is now speaking.

Scenic panels and DMX hoists (for light weight scenery). DMX pixel Hoists, a vertical LED tube that can move up and down. 28' travel distance. Used at the US Olympic win trials.

 
Schnick Schnack Systems
LED P Dot. High powered LED dot. Auto Addressing, Daisy chain-able, RGB to RGBW conversion. 45MM diameter, hight of 37mm tall. 4x4mm luminance area.
 
INFILED is a top 5 worldwide LED manufacture. Privately owned Chinese company opening up a US office on the west coast.
Titan-X 1.2m square with 70 percent transparency led panel, so you can shoot lighting through the wall from behind.
x Wave LED - MK2 curable LED wall product.
Dealer and installer direct, no end user sales.
 
Pixmob is next.
Wearable lighting devices. was used at the supper bowl this year. Those folks in red jackets and masks and the wristbands. Made from recycled plastic and is apparently biodegradable. once used it can be thrown away.

New product is a LED aisle/seating light, wireless, infrared control. Single battery lasts 50 shows.
