Control/Dimming Obsidian Control Systems

Nathan Cronic

Kaiser of Consoles
Obsidian Control Systems has appeared out of the blue. Seems to be a fork of Elation Professional. Obsidian's website gives a basic preface to the company and their intentions. A paragraph under the "Shorty About Us" section tells us that the core development team has worked on the known MAXXYZ and M-Series / M-PC consoles and technologies. The website says "Launching Soon" and has a timer set for August 16. Hopefully we will know more then.

I wonder if this is aimed for the niche of the new Zero88 FLX and the Chamsys QuickQ.

Not really out of the blue. Elation bought the entire console division of Martin and is re-branding it because legally, they have to, and besides who would want to keep the name "M-Series"? It's great software and I expect the dev team to finally get somewhere now that they're not under the shackles of Harman/Samsung who I don't think saw any potential for that line. Matthias Hinrichs from Martin's console division had already joined Elation when they made the acquisition, so I think this is gonna be good.

That PCB is of an M2GO console or the new version of said console.

Here's an interesting little article: https://www.livedesignonline.com/bu...hinrichs-product-manager-elation-professional

As an aside, in the OP's second picture, that is Matthias in the pic, (the guy farther from the camera)

Website seems to have been updated a few hours ago. Downloading ONYX Software now.

I had to laugh at the product photos, the M-Touch and M-Play still say Martin.

BitDefender doesn't like the download. Quarantined and deleted it. Undoubtably what's known as a false positive, but letting the Obsidian people know.
