Opto-splitter and ETC Sensor not playing nice

I have a Fleenor Opto-splitter and an ETC Element. We just rented an ETC Sensor 24 rack portable dimmer for a show, and I'm trying to split my signal from the board to both the dimmer and my LED fixtures. The LEDs take the signal just fine, but the DMX light on the Sensor just blinks. If I plug the cable directly into the board the dimmer works. I tried switching the ports, and I tested all my cables. Any ideas?

The Element has a second DMX output. By default it is universe 2 as in patch to 2/address to get your LEDs to run off that port. (or reconfigure it to Universe 1.)

I would contact the rental company and maybe Fleenor. If it works without the splitter then the splitter is likely the issue.

Did you try different outputs on the fleenor? Did you try resetting the control module on the dimmer rack, sometimes they are finicky.

What kind of control card does this dimmer pack have? MPE (the one with rotary dials to set the address), CEM (lots of buttons), CEM + (a couple buttons: up, down, "check", etc), or newer?

Polarity reversal switch maybe?
Some of the old Martin fixtures needed this and maybe a switch was left in this mode?
