    1. Any plate containing flush mount receptacles for the purpose of interconnecting lighting, audio, video, or other systems.

    2. Now obsolete, due to DPC, a large metal enclosure containing plugs for circuits and receptacles for dimmers. Sometimes called spaghetti patch, for obvious reasons.
