He'll learn once he gets locked in a storage closet for an hour or two until the janitor tracks down the screaming.
By law can't those doors not be able to lock someone in?
I can always take the door off its hinges/remove any hardware, or call the numerous faculty and maintenance guys I have on speed-dial, or get patched into the radio-phone system and contact anyone on campus.
I actually have to go in to school soon and work, solo. But it's just paperwork, so I think I'll be alright.
