Pittsburgh Playhouse Finally Closing

When I was a freshman at Point Park University (08) they told me in 2 years we'd be in the new theater. Well 10 years later it seems like they finally built a new theater. The Pittsburgh Playhouse was the coolest space I've ever worked in. 3 theaters, each with its own unique and frustrating and amazing quirks. A labyrinth of narrow hallways connecting the theaters with various workshops and storage nooks and crannies. The building seemed like it was alive, as over the decades it kept growing, absorbing neighboring buildings and incorporating them into itself. You could easily get lost trying to get from one end of the building to the other. I'm glad the University got itself a new space downtown, but its sad to see this landmark and icon of local arts go...
