Programmable Keyboard

Has anyone run across this?

It seems like it could be a really good option for guys running software consoles. Anyone had experience with something like this? I know it wouldn't be as robust as a nice set of X-Keys, but it might be a more affordable option for install applications.

I saw this, and strongly considered pre-ordering one. I didn't, because:
  1. It's a condensed keyboard
  2. No number pad
  3. Wouldn't work with a console (no "hardware mode")
  4. It's bluetooth (you can pry my wired keyboard and mouse from my cold dead hands!)
But otherwise it looks pretty slick. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper than an Optimus Maximus!

Actually, it does have a wired mode. The need for a computer in line is a deal breaker for any hardware console, but it does seem like a great solution for all the guys running pc consoles out there.

Thats it exactly. No good for a console you can't install the software to make the keyboard work on. However for a PC based console that would be really good... Or for in the office/home, pre programming on PC (or other things on PC like CAD, photoshop, games, and such) would be great.

I swear by x-keys.
