Mixers/Consoles Rambert Dance Company at the Brighton Theatre Royal, 2007

They were using a Midas Heritage 1000 series and had identified a number of minor faults. I lived in Brighton at that time, and it fell to me to sort them out.

It is quite an easy console to work on, but I think my greatest achievement was getting some of the circuit diagrams out of Midas. I knew that they never released them, but I had to try, so I just rang them up and told them that the Rambert Dance Company were only in town for one night and their console needed fixing now. I listed the problems and the man I was speaking to said he had to authorise the release. Within 10 minutes I had the .pdf files of the relevant sections and a confirmation phone call.

I immediately went to the theatre with a large collection of spares and tools and got to work. Everything was fixed within an hour and a half.

I feel sure that it was only because I was able to drop a name as big as Rambert that Midas opened up.
