Recommended Network Controlled Audio Player?

I’m wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an audio playback device that is networked, so it can accept UDP start/stop commands as well as be updated over network rather than through USB or other physical media.

What's your budget and channel needs? Without knowing more, I know off the top of my head Alcorn McBride products fit the bill.

On the low end of the spectrum, you could do it with a headless Mac Mini and QLab. For somewhere in-between you could use a Q-SYS core.

Stereo output (2.1) is just fine for me.
I’d love to know how a headless Mac Mini would work?

Would you say the BinLoop or the Video Machine from Alcorn McBride is most cost effective?
