The song, album and concert made them famous. There's a great back story to the concert and how they went from 3rd billing to headlining.

They were, as perspective, 23 (Gregg) and 24 (Duane) years old. Dickie Betts was the "old man" at 27. Certainly one of the most distinctive voices in R&R, you hear him sing and you know right away that's Gregg.

RIP Gregg.

He last played our place Jan of 2010. I can't remember that show... but I'm sure it was great. We have had most if not all of his band-mates.. always a great show. Allman Brothers use to do at least 2 nights if not 3 in the shed down the road... Always sold out no matter what... Tedeschi Trucks is close to the true Allman experience... but not totally it. Warren Haynes still puts on a killer show if you can catch that. We've had Warren in more times then I can count... well worth the ticket.... with or without Gov't Mule. It also still cracks me up that the most British of all TV shows has an American southern rock theme song...
