RISKS are everywhere

I have, for many years, followed a newsletter on the 'net called the RISKS Digest: it provides links and discussions to news and conversations about All The Bad Stuff That Can Happen.

I'm not sure whether this story will show up there, but... well... go outside your theatre. Look at all the trees. Are you next? :-}

That tree looks like it didn't have a healthy root system. Some species are prone to diseases that cause that. It's a good idea to have large trees checked out by a certified arborist every few years. They can often spot the trees with problems that pose a hazard or do maintenance pruning to make them more sound during inclement weather. It's better to take steps to reduce the risk from trees rather than just cut them down.

Around here at least they will stop in and do an assessment of the tree risks for free. Be sure to find someone you can trust.
