So there's a new twist on the remote follow spot genre. It's called "Spot Me" from the fine folks at Juliat. Instead of making the follow spot remotely controllable like PRG's ground control or the SpoTrack software system. R.J. has turned the follow spot into a tracking device to control other fixtures in your rig. The follow spot is normal, but it has a special mount that gives XYZ positioning data to the rest of your rig. As the follow spot moves around the stage, you set up zones in the software that activate other movers or stationary fixtures to track or fire off. It's very cool.
