Just a little second hand story.. My dad served with him on the Fletcher Class Destroyer "Picking" in the early 50's. Guantanamo Cuba.. Playing anti sub footsie with the soviets and the Americans in the North Atlantic. Joint exercises with NATO Hurricanes in the North Atlantic.. First American ships to dock in Bremerhaven Germany post WWII. And of course Morse, before he was "Morse" doing a soft shoe on Radio City stage in full dress whites during a tour.. Kid asked for his autograph.. He signed "Mickey Rooney"

Mr. Morse was an absolute pleasure to work with on 'Tru' at the Booth in New York. He had one of the most 'we're all working on this show together' demeanours that I've encountered.

My mom, as it happens, was in homeroom with him at Newton High School in the... woulda had to be early 50s, cause I'm 56. Not for long, she dropped out of school; second oldest of 14 in a Boston Irish Catholic family.
