Scenic. A staple of corporate shows, and sometimes the only "scenery" existing. Consists of a header (top), skirt (bottom (even when "hard")), and legs (sides). Nothing looks worse or unfinished than a bare, unmasked screen sitting on a stage. Often the lighting designer must light the surround with changing color or texture (gobos) but must take care not to overpower the projected image. While basic shows will use either a dress kit or pipe and drapey, the more elaborate ones are made of some variation of studio flats.
