Sill Iron Alternative

    I am at a theater that uses stock shutter and frame assemblies. but no sill irons. Isit possible to use a door without a sill iron or is there an alternative to the sill iron if there is not one there?

    Generally the floor is your sill iron. During load out, screw a board to the bottom of the flat to keep it from getting damaged...

    I have used 1/4" AC ply cut to the width of the door frame and routed to match the attached door reveals. More like a threshold that runs the full width of the door unit. My door frames usually have at least 5/8" of slop at the top and 1/2" on the sides to allow for adjustment.
