Simple Automated Lighting Question

Are there any problems with Daisy-chaining intelligent fixtures of different manufacturers? Specifically, I have HES StudioColors, HES StudioSpots, VL2500 Washes, and VL2500 spots currently used in my system and would like to daisy chain them if possible.

do differing instrument profiles conflict with each other?

There should not be a problem with that. As long as the fixtures are addressed correctly, there shouldn't be any conflicts. Be sure to use a terminator at the end of the line.

Usually there are no problems. (I've found Cyberlights, Intellabeams, and Dataflashes often don't play well with others.) However, with your specific fixtures, the HESs are 3pin XLR and the VLs are 5pin. So I would daisy chain all of one brand, then convert with an http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/glossary-l/11123-adapter-3-5-a.html or http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/glossary-l/11124-adapter-5-3-a.html, then do the other brand.

Nope, not a bit. Nor does matter the order of the fixtures in the chain. Run the data however it makes the most sense.

only the weird stuff comes around when it comes to the older highend gear. I have had cybers not like to play with mac's. I have also run into something weird with the older studio colors before but i cannot remember exactly what. I think it was mainly a cable problem with the studio colors.

Yeah, I run Studio Colors with MACs and Veri Lights with no problem.

Okay this is not really part of the current conversation, but I just got custom gobos for my VL2500's and I would like to know if there is a video somewhere on how to replace the gobos in the light. Please let me know if there is!!
