Software Samplers

Hey

I wonder if anyone can help. I am a bit out of touch with recent developments and software releases.

I am looking for a good Software sample playback program. Not stricly a sampler per se - in the sense of being able to "play" the samples using a keyboard, more for the playback of sounds and stings and the push of a button.

Any ideas?

Also check out http://www.soundcuesystem.com/ ... it's a lot cheaper than SFX and many people swear by it (I just bought a license myself) although doesn't cover as wide an array of theater functions -- it's just focused on sound playback.

im sure someone can chime in with a link.

And the base system is free
