That's it, lets lobby Dave to get a "Lamp Mods" forum added to CB 3.0.

Nice Work.

Nice lamp. I've gotta make a floor lamp out of our old monster-sized Kleigl that hangs on a pipe in the cats to remind people how well off they are now that we have S4s.

Now that's cute. I mean that in a manly, "Well done lad", sort of way.

I LOVE IT! Kudos, TupeloTechieKid. And even more interesting, I can't place the fixture. It's similar to the Kliegl 1365 or Altman 367...Aha, found it. It's an Altman 365/6x6, from the early 1960s, just like me! I hope you found it missing its yoke and lamp cap with asbestos-covered wiring, otherwise I couldn't approve of drilling a hole in the fixture.

That's funny I just scraped out 5 of these things. I kept the lenses of course because oddly enough, they fit a 6x9. I should post pic's of the fresnels in my movie theatre room. They're 65Q's with everything taken out and a lamp socket with a twist switch mounted axially to the back of the unit. They sit on floor bases pointing straight up. I also have enough parts to whip up about 3 360Q's converted to household lamps. I plan on taking some of my old dull reflectors and drilling them out to fit a medium screw base. I did one already and it actually focuses. I can probably even do shutters. The parts I have aren't really show worthy anymore but I could probably make them look nice with some black spray paint. I love household stage lighting projects! Can't say I've made the table lamp though.

It didn't come with the yoke, lamp cap, or lens, and the reflector was bent far beyond use, its also been repainted like 4-5 times, but it came free with some other stuff I bought off ebay.

Very well then. The power I have to influence younger minds is...[intoxicating? fear-inducing? exhilarating? astonishing? other?]

Now, is that table always carrying an array of paraphernalia?

I think he's hiding the dirty magazine and the smoking devices in the closet...:) sorry was that inappropriate?

There's a Apollo swatchbook there, that's kinda like lighting porn, right?

Oh and I swear my lamp is coming soon, I finally got the specific parts that I needed.

Take that library to school!

I labeled all my books, and they're all sitting in the tech office. Sure, I can't reference them at home when posting on CB, but this way any student or faculty member can borrow a book and learn something new.

And they will gradually disappear into other peoples libraries. There was a good reason why Bibles were chained to reading stands in the middle ages.

Oh I'm sorry I'm so cynical.

All mine are right where I left them...

I brought in a very large toolbox which blends in to the clutter of the office. Only myself and the SM know that it is secretly full of candy and snacks.

Folks.

The S4 version was no better.

I applaud the effort, but this still a butt F _ _ _ IN ugly table lamp !.

Were I to bring one of these home, I am certain it would be the only thing - besides my very expensive collection of bicycles, that would be moving with me to my new apartment after my wife of 23 years threw my ass out on the street. She might actually keep my bikes, she knows value !.
