@Lynnchesque ...in a JARRING / SUDDENLY vibrating way and / or "debating" with a jammed / stuck shutter in your attempt to 'school ' / 'convince' it of the error of its ways.

I won't horrify you with the details, but I'm afraid I have to admit to what could be thusly described as abuse of many a poor S4. Then again, they've set me on fire and blown up next to my head, so I'd say we're even.

Or, moving *the entire lamp and stand* while hot (note I did not say "on"; they take time to cool) -- that could also pop it.

And of course we've all had a lamp pop adjusting the beam spread of a fresnel when the tray has stuck on the slider. Of course the lantern is adjusted with the lamp lit, but avoiding any sudden jarring.
