Stagehand dies after Avenged Sevenfold concert in Germany

Apparently a 26 year old crew member fell from about 20 meters up and landed on a 19 year old crew member. The 19 year old died, the 26 year old is in the hospital.

Found another link today with a statement from Disturbed as well. That's going to be a lot of weight on the shoulders of the guy recovering... Wear your fall protection people.

This is so horrible. I feel so bad for everyone involved.

It's more shocking that this happened in Europe; it seems that they usually have much more strict safety standards. This is a sad reminder to everyone that your personal safety decisions may have grave effects on others.

has anyone seen any follow up to this story? has there been any information about why the guy was not tied in?

Still no follow up that I can find, but this story says he was working on the front lighting truss. I don't remember reading that before.
