Stair nose lighting

That looks really hawt.

What form of tech is most commonly used on that type of lighting? I'm thinking LED, but yours seem to be a very nice, diffused light, or is that just the camera?

We installed Flatlite Electroluminescent strip for this effect with a specially designed stair nose which accomodates the Flatlite.

The nose has the option to use LED strip ,but we opted for the EL instead as it was less harsh to look at and it delineated the steps much better.

There is a total of 490 ft of this installed and the total cost for the lights was at roughly $14.00 CAD a ft.
